Tooling and die setup for high-speed stamping of 150x150mm scaffolding base plates. Discusses tonnage calculation, stripper clearance, and progressive embossing dies.
Base Plate Stamping & Die Engineering
Scaffolding base plates distribute immense axial column loads onto ground timbers or concrete foundations. Standard plates (150mm x 150mm x 6mm or 8mm steel) require four corner radiuses, four nail holes, center spigot locating holes, and stiffening embossment ribs to prevent dishing under load.
Press Tonnage Sizing for 6mm IS 2062 Steel
Shearing and embossing 6mm mild steel requires substantial mechanical energy. Our Pillar Type Power Press provides four-point rigid guiding to prevent die tilt during eccentric stamping loads:
| Operation Component | Shear Area Calculation | Required Tonnage |
|---|---|---|
| Outer Blanking (150x150mm) | Perimeter 600mm x 6mm | 120 - 140 Tons |
| Center Hole Punching (38mm) | Circumference 119mm x 6mm | 28 - 32 Tons |
| Embossing Stiffener Ribs | Forming tonnage factor | 40 - 50 Tons |
| Recommended Press Frame | Steel Fabricated Pillar Type | 150 Ton Capacity |
Heavy blank shearing can be shared with our Fixed Rake Angle Hydraulic Shearing Machine to prepare clean strip blanks before final stamping.
