Technical procedures for attaching forged ledger blades to scaffolding tubes. Covers hydraulic pipe flattening, end trimming, and simultaneous dual-head MIG welding.
Ledger Component Production Sequence
Scaffolding horizontal ledgers feature forged or pressed ledger blades welded at both terminal ends. If the blade angles are off by even 1 degree, circular scaffolding structures will rack and bind on job sites. The Horizontal Ledger Welding Machine clamps both ends of the pipe simultaneously, ensuring zero angular twist between opposing blades.
Hydraulic End Crimping vs Direct Butt Welding
Depending on regional specifications (Cuplock vs Ringlock ledgers), pipe ends either undergo hydraulic crimping or direct saddle coping. The dual head welding fixture rotates both ends in complete synchronization while twin MIG torches lay continuous downhand welds around each blade connection.
| Production Variable | Standard Specification |

| Pipe Diameter Range | 48.3 mm O.D. (3.2mm / 2.9mm wall) |
| Ledger Length Capacity | 0.5 Meter to 3.0 Meters |
| Welding Heads | Twin Dual-Torch Setup (Simultaneous) |
| Daily Output (8-Hour Shift) | 450 - 600 Finished Ledgers |
| Tensile Proof Load | BS 1139 / EN 12810 (Min 35 kN) |
