Threading machines manufactured by National Cutting Tools in Ludhiana, Punjab, are precision heavy-duty machine tools engineered for cutting external and internal screw threads on mild steel pipes, galvanized conduit, black iron water pipes, structural high-tensile bolts, foundation anchor bolts, and scaffolding tie rods. In plumbing pipe fabrication, fire-fighting sprinkler line preparation, structural fastener works, and agricultural implement plants, thread clean-start, pitch accuracy, and flank concentricity are paramount for pressure-tight, leak-proof joints.
Unlike lightweight portable jobsite threaders with die heads prone to chattering on heavy schedule 40/80 pipe, NCT threading machines feature heavy cast iron headstocks, hardened alloy lead-screws or precision rack carriages, and industrial 4-chaser tangential die heads. Our machines cut standard BSPT, NPT, Metric, Whitworth (BSW), and Trapezoidal (ACME) threads in single continuous passes with automated die release at preset thread lengths.

03 Tangential Chaser Engineering & Re-Sharpening Economy
The heart of our threading machine performance lies in our proprietary tangential chaser die head system:
- ✓Tangential Chaser Economy: Unlike radial dies that must be discarded when worn, tangential chasers can be resharpened on their front face repeatedly, delivering up to 80 to 100 resharpening cycles per set.
- ✓Automatic Opening Die Heads: A mechanical trip lever or pneumatic limit switch triggers the die head to spring open automatically when the desired thread length is reached, preventing tool crashes during reverse carriage return.
- ✓Flood Lubrication System: An integrated high-volume gear pump floods the die chasers with cutting oil directly through the die head body, flushing chips and ensuring smooth thread flank finish.

Our pipe threading machine lineup covers nominal bore sizes from 1/2" (15 mm) up to 2" (50 mm), 1/2" up to 4" (100 mm), and heavy models up to 6" (150 mm) diameter pipes across Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 wall thicknesses.
Q2. Can one machine cut both British Standard (BSPT) and American Standard (NPT) pipe threads?
Yes. By changing the tangential chaser sets and adjusting the die head taper-guide mechanism, the same machine cuts 55° Whitworth BSPT (BS 21) threads or 60° American NPT (ANSI B1.20.1) taper pipe threads.
Q3. How many times can NCT tangential chasers be resharpened?
Our high-speed steel (HSS M2 / M35) tangential chasers can be resharpened on a surface grinder across their front face up to 80 to 100 times, dramatically lowering operating cost per threaded joint compared to disposable radial dies.

Yes. Our Bolt Cum Pipe Threading machines cut standard Metric coarse/fine threads (M12 to M64), BSW, UNC, and heavy Acme/Trapezoidal threads for scaffolding jack screws and sluice gate stems.
