<p>Constructed from heavy, close-grained cast iron with wide hand-scraped ram ways, the machine features a rocker-arm quick-return mechanism that drives the ram forward at regulated cutting speed and returns it rapidly on the non-cutting stroke. The swiveling toolhead with clapper box lifts the tool clear on the return stroke to preserve the cutting edge, while automatic table cross-feed delivers uniform feed increments per stroke.</p>
