While horizontal shapers and milling machines cannot access the interior of blind bores or deep internal hubs, the vertical reciprocating ram of a slotting machine drives single-point tooling vertically into the bore, generating precise internal features with high dimensional accuracy.</p>.
<p>Featuring a heavy cast-iron column and base, the machine utilizes a balanced crank or link mechanism to reciprocate the vertical ram. A heavy rotary index table with 360-degree graduation and cross/longitudinal feeds allows precise angular indexing for multi-spline shafts, internal gear teeth, and keyways in hubs, couplings, and scaffolding components.</p>
