Before coiled wire rod or heavy bar stock can be drawn through a tungsten carbide or diamond drawing die, the leading end must be tapered down to a smaller diameter so it can pass through the die orifice and be gripped by the drawing carriage pulling tongs.</p>.
<p>Constructed with a heavy-duty cast frame, the machine features two or four precision-grooved alloy steel rolling rolls driven by an electric motor through a reduction gearbox. The operator introduces the wire end into progressively smaller roll grooves; the revolving eccentric rollers swage and reduce the wire end smoothly without cracking or metal shearing, producing a clean, concentric point in just a few passes.</p>
