Technical setup parameters for multi-torch circular MIG welding of Ringlock rosettes on 48.3mm scaffold tubes. Covers shielding gas mixtures, rotational speeds, and EN 12810 penetration standards.
Shop-Floor Setup for Ringlock Rosette Welding
In high-capacity scaffolding manufacturing plants, welding structural rosettes onto 48.3mm O.D. vertical standards requires absolute circular concentricity and uniform fillet throat thickness. Our Standard Ringlock Welding Machine uses a pneumatic clamping spindle combined with synchronized twin or quad MIG welding torches to complete 360-degree welds around each rosette ring in a single indexed rotation.
Recommended MIG Welding Parameters for IS 2062 / EN 10025 Steel
When running standard 3.2mm wall scaffolding pipe with 8.0mm or 10.0mm pressed rosette plates, maintaining proper heat input is essential to prevent cold laps or burn-through:
| Welding Parameter | Specification | Operating Range |
|---|---|---|
| Shielding Gas Mixture | Ar / CO2 (82/18) | 15 - 18 Liters / Min |
| MIG Wire Grade | AWS ER70S-6 (Copper Coated) | 1.2 mm Diameter |
| Welding Current | Direct Current Electrode Positive | 220 - 250 Amperes |
| Arc Voltage | Constant Voltage Power Source | 24 - 26 Volts |
| Spindle Rotational Speed | Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) | 14 - 18 Seconds / Rev |
| Fillet Leg Length | EN 12810 Standard Compliance | 4.5 mm - 5.5 mm Throat |
Fixture Indexing & Spacing Precision
Rosettes must be positioned along vertical standards at strict 500mm centers. The mechanical stops on the machine bed utilize hardened locating pins to lock the pipe longitudinally before pneumatic chuck jaws engage. Pneumatic tailstock pressure ensures zero lateral displacement during arc ignition.
