Rebar Machine for Saudi Arabia (KSA)
National Cutting Tools builds rebar thread rolling, upsetting and cold forging equipment that prepares bar ends for mechanical splice couplers instead of lapping at its works in Ludhiana, Punjab, and ships them to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar, Jubail and Yanbu through King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam. The machines produce parallel-thread and taper-thread bar ends from 12 mm to 40 mm, and are built to the geometry and tolerances called up by BS 4449, ASTM A615 and A706 for the bar, and ISO 15835 for the coupler system. Every consignment for Saudi Arabia is rewound for 60 Hz, which is a different motor and gearbox selection rather than a nameplate change: at 60 Hz an unmodified 50 Hz motor runs 20 percent fast, shifting cycle timing, hydraulic flow and weld travel speed.
Where the demand comes from
Saudi Arabia rolls its own rebar and the giga-project cages are dense enough that mechanical splices are specified as standard, so rebar threading capacity sits close to the mills and the precast yards. Local-content scoring under IKTVA favours in-Kingdom thread preparation over imported couplers.

Supply: 380V, 3-phase, 60 Hz. Rewound for 60 Hz, which is a different motor and gearbox selection rather than a nameplate change: at 60 Hz an unmodified 50 Hz motor runs 20 percent fast, shifting cycle timing, hydraulic flow and weld travel speed.
Shipping & crating
Threading and upsetting machines are compact enough for LCL, but the hydraulic power pack and cooling tank are usually crated separately to keep the gross weight per package inside the buyer's forklift rating. Sailings from Mundra and Nhava Sheva reach Dammam in 6 to 9 days, or Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea rotation, discharging at King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam (SADMM). Machines are crated to ISPM-15 heat-treated standard with desiccant and a vapour barrier, and the packing list, commercial invoice and chamber-attested Certificate of Origin travel with the consignment.
Standards & import documentation
Machines in this class normally clear customs under HS heading 8459.70. Coupler pull-out testing against the specified bar grade is the acceptance criterion, so a sample thread set is rolled and tested before dispatch. Import clearance in Saudi Arabia runs on SASO technical regulations declared through the SABER platform, with a Product Certificate of Conformity issued per consignment. The works issues the manufacturer test certificate, electrical schematic and material test report with every machine, so the buyer's submittal pack is complete on arrival rather than assembled afterwards.
| Conformity | SASO technical regulations declared through the SABER platform; Product Certificate of Conformity prepared per shipment. Pre-shipment inspection accepted at the Ludhiana works. |
| Tariff headings | Typical headings: 8515.31 (arc/MIG welding machines), 8459.70 (threading and tapping machines), 8462.49 (punching and notching machines), 8479.89 (special purpose machines). |
| Port (UN/LOCODE) | King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam (SADMM) |
| Incoterms offered | EXW Ludhiana, FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva, CIF Dammam or CIF Jeddah |
Spares & after-sales support
Wear parts for this class are thread rolling dies, chaser sets, hydraulic seals and the bar clamping jaws. Interior sites at Riyadh and NEOM combine 50 C summer peaks with abrasive dust; coastal Jubail and Jeddah add chloride-laden humidity. Machines are specified accordingly, and the 60 Hz requirement is engineered in at the motor and pump stage. Spare-part orders are quoted against the machine serial number.
