Thread Bar Machinery for Saudi Arabia (KSA)
National Cutting Tools builds thread rolling and cutting lines for tie rods, jack screws, anchor bars and formwork accessories at its works in Ludhiana, Punjab, and ships them to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar, Jubail and Yanbu through King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam. The machines produce Tr and metric rolled threads on solid bar for base jacks, U-head jacks and wall-form tie rods, and are built to the geometry and tolerances called up by ISO 965 tolerance classes, DIN 975 and DIN 976 for the bar itself. Every consignment for Saudi Arabia is rewound for 60 Hz, which is a different motor and gearbox selection rather than a nameplate change: at 60 Hz an unmodified 50 Hz motor runs 20 percent fast, shifting cycle timing, hydraulic flow and weld travel speed.
Where the demand comes from
Formwork and shoring demand across NEOM, Qiddiya and Diriyah is consuming tie rods and jack screws faster than import lead times comfortably support, which makes in-Kingdom thread rolling a supply-security decision rather than only a cost one.

Electrical build
Supply: 380V, 3-phase, 60 Hz. Rewound for 60 Hz, which is a different motor and gearbox selection rather than a nameplate change: at 60 Hz an unmodified 50 Hz motor runs 20 percent fast, shifting cycle timing, hydraulic flow and weld travel speed.
Shipping & crating
Bar lines are long rather than heavy: the infeed magazine and outfeed conveyor determine container choice, and a 40 ft HC is the usual answer for a full line. Sailings from Mundra and Nhava Sheva reach Dammam in 6 to 9 days, or Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea rotation, discharging at King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam (SADMM). Machines are crated to ISPM-15 heat-treated standard with desiccant and a vapour barrier, and the packing list, commercial invoice and chamber-attested Certificate of Origin travel with the consignment.
Standards & import documentation
Machines in this class normally clear customs under HS heading 8459.70. Thread class is verified with go/no-go ring gauges on the buyer's bar stock, since rolled thread class depends on the incoming bar diameter tolerance. Import clearance in Saudi Arabia runs on SASO technical regulations declared through the SABER platform, with a Product Certificate of Conformity issued per consignment. The works issues the manufacturer test certificate, electrical schematic and material test report with every machine, so the buyer's submittal pack is complete on arrival rather than assembled afterwards.
| Conformity | SASO technical regulations declared through the SABER platform; Product Certificate of Conformity prepared per shipment. Pre-shipment inspection accepted at the Ludhiana works. |
| Tariff headings | Typical headings: 8515.31 (arc/MIG welding machines), 8459.70 (threading and tapping machines), 8462.49 (punching and notching machines), 8479.89 (special purpose machines). |
| Port (UN/LOCODE) | King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam (SADMM) |
| Incoterms offered | EXW Ludhiana, FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva, CIF Dammam or CIF Jeddah |
Spares & after-sales support
Wear parts for this class are thread rolls, straightening rollers, feed collets and drive belts. Interior sites at Riyadh and NEOM combine 50 C summer peaks with abrasive dust; coastal Jubail and Jeddah add chloride-laden humidity. Machines are specified accordingly, and the 60 Hz requirement is engineered in at the motor and pump stage. Spare-part orders are quoted against the machine serial number.
