Lathe Machines for Oman
National Cutting Tools builds all-geared heavy-duty lathes for turning shafts, spindles, couplers and repair work on scaffold and rebar tooling at its works in Ludhiana, Punjab, and ships them to Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Duqm and Nizwa through Port of Sohar. The machines produce turned couplers, jack nuts, spindle repairs and die blanks, and are built to the geometry and tolerances called up by IS 1878 and DIN 8605 accuracy classes. Every consignment for Oman is built for 415V 50 Hz with thermal overload relays sized for extended duty, since Omani fabricators often run single-shift machines into double shifts during turnaround season.
Where the demand comes from
Oilfield and industrial maintenance turning in Oman is local work by necessity, and the machine shops at Sohar, Muscat and Duqm are the buyers. The short spares leg is a real operating advantage here.

Shipping & crating
Bed length drives the container decision; a 3 metre bed lathe fits a 40 ft, longer beds go flat rack. The machine must be levelled on grout pads before the first cut. Sohar is the closest GCC discharge port to Mundra at 4 to 7 days, with the Port of Salalah as the alternative for southern Oman, discharging at Port of Sohar (OMSOH). Machines are crated to ISPM-15 heat-treated standard with desiccant and a vapour barrier, and the packing list, commercial invoice and chamber-attested Certificate of Origin travel with the consignment.
Standards & import documentation
Machines in this class normally clear customs under HS heading 8458.11. Geometric acceptance is a levelling, taper and roundness test cut, which is why the foundation drawing is issued with the order confirmation rather than at dispatch. Import clearance in Oman runs on Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) import requirements and Omani standards, with chamber-legalised documentation. The works issues the manufacturer test certificate, electrical schematic and material test report with every machine, so the buyer's submittal pack is complete on arrival rather than assembled afterwards.

Spares & after-sales support
Wear parts for this class are headstock bearings, feed gears, lead screws and the chuck jaw sets. Oman is the shortest sea leg from western India, which matters more than it sounds: a 4 to 7 day transit makes it practical to air-freight a replacement part against a sea-freighted machine, so a breakdown is measured in days rather than weeks. Spare-part orders are quoted against the machine serial number.
